Howdy folks! This is only my second "square" license plate bird feeder that I've done. The first one I kept for myself (and my birds). It's actually pretty laborious getting the cramped folds just right and soldered.
This old license plate has a great color to it like much of the old Illinois plates. A modified small copper plate serves as the roof. Some fan blades from an antique electric fan sit a top. I fabricated a screw-on top to hold everything together with an old bathroom faucet handle. That way it's really easy to refill the feeder.
The birds can each out of the covered hole or as is slowly releases out of the bottom onto the porcelain enamel plate that is bordered with used dog tags.
