Upcycled Black Pulpit Bookshelf with Light

Hey everyone!  Here's one of the many things I've completed lately.  I'm so behind on my photo editing and posting everything.  I'll try to get on it!

In the meantime, here's some pics of the upcycled black pulpit bookshelf.

It started with a very beefy older church pulpit.  The shelves were already in the back which made for a quick idea of it becoming a bookshelf.  I added the baseboards and the vintage lamp.

The decorative accents on the front are super cool and worked well with the distressing.  I used General Finishes milk paint for the black.  It's very black and that's what I wanted.

The top was some really nice oak, I believe.  It is a solid chunk.  I took out the older components for the microphone assembly and wired and added this vintage reading lamp.  Now a large book can be viewed or put on display on the top and enjoyed while standing.

Because of it's size, this piece can hold quite a lot of books.  Or anything else you might choose to display.

Measurements:

44" tall; 32" wide; 24" deep
