Reclaimed Wood Custom Mantel with Repurposed Items

Happy Holidays folks! I'm catching up on posting my latest creations and here's another!

We (Shreveport Salvage) picked up an old mantel skeleton that was just the top board and some spindly little framing pieces. I got the hankering to tackle it not too long ago. I used some of our old beadboard from the same pick and added some vintage surveyor marking stick pieces and old yardsticks. The top backing board is from a vintage piano. The tin is really old and I was glad to use it as the backing. The interior of the firebox, I painted, distressed and waxed to compliment the whole look. That's some original vintage new/old stock metal furniture trim around the top perimeter. I hope you like it!.....
