Photos from Visit to Pinola Preserve in North Louisiana
For all the bird lovers out there that follow GadgetSponge, you're in for a treat! Recently, I got the rare chance to go visit the Pinola Preserve here in North Louisiana. They aren't open to the public, but I was able to go as a member of the Louisiana Ornithological Society (LOS)during the 2013 Winter Meeting.
As a bird lover, there isn't a shortage of positive adjectives that can be used to describe the place. With almost 300 species on hand in several enclosed (very large) outdoor aviaries, they are responsible for sucessfully breeding many species. Some of those species are in extremely low numbers from around the world. On hand were temperature-controlled ponds, waterfalls, beautiful landscaping and a totally nurturing environment for the many birds and waterfowl. You can contact them directly via there website (HERE) with any questions you might have for them.
Below, I've featured just about 10 photos that I was lucky enough to take. You can view about 100 photos that I culled from about 500 photographs I took by CLICKING HERE!
